GLENBOWEN.COM brings together the things I’ve spent a lifetime studying, collecting, creating, and sharing, fine writing instruments, watches, jewelry, artwork, golf, and the stories behind exceptional products.

My interest in luxury goods began with a fascination for craftsmanship. A well-made fountain pen, mechanical watch, piece of jewelry, or work of art is more than something to own. It reflects human skill, history, design, and patience. The best objects invite you to slow down and appreciate how they were made.

I’m especially passionate about fine writing instruments. In 1987, I founded Pen World International, a magazine devoted to collectible and luxury pens, and later wrote Collectible Fountain Pens, which went through 11 editions and sold more than 100,000 copies. I also authored PenSpeak—The Secret Language of Pen Lovers. Over the years, I have written extensively about pens, collected and restored vintage examples, photographed thousands of writing instruments, and developed relationships with manufacturers, retailers, collectors, and artisans around the world.

My work in the luxury watch industry grew from that same appreciation for detail and mechanical excellence. I founded the Luxury Watch Industry Professionals group on LinkedIn, now a community of more than 12,000 members, and founded InSync Watch Magazine and later served as publisher and editorial director of Watch Journal. I also developed and directed luxury watch trade shows and consumer events in Las Vegas, bringing together leading brands, independent watchmakers, collectors, retailers, and the international press.

Through GLENBOWEN.COM, I’m building on those experiences by curating a selection of luxury goods from trusted sources. The website will feature fine writing instruments, stationery, jewelry, wristwatches, and artwork chosen for their quality, design, history, and appeal. My goal is not simply to offer beautiful objects for sale, but to provide context and help customers understand what makes each piece special.

Golf is another major part of my life and work. I’m the author of golf books and articles, a certified professional golf coach, and a member of the United States Golf Association and the United States Golf Teachers Federation. I enjoy helping golfers understand the game in practical, encouraging ways, whether they are just beginning or trying to improve a specific part of their swing.

I’m also the inventor of the Firecracker® Golf Tee, a USGA-approved tee protected by one utility patent and four design patents. The tee was independently tested against competing products and recognized for its distance, accuracy, and ease of use. Developing the product, protecting it through the patent process, and bringing it to market combined several of my lifelong interests: golf, design, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.
